Earth Day Celebrations
Simi Valley holds an Earth Day Celebration each April. Past events began with an electronic waste collection event in the morning at the Simi Valley Town Center. The afternoon events included demonstrations and displays in the Town Center’s courtyard that lasted into the evening. The celebration has continued to grow each year, as has the number of exhibitors and participants.
Exhibits
Displays and demonstrations include landscape exhibits with California native plants, pollution prevention demonstrations, water conservation displays and information, natural gas powered transit vehicles, sewer and storm drain cleaning trucks, and emergency vehicles.
Vendors
Many local vendors and Town Center businesses participate in the Celebration. The majority of vendors participating in the Celebration are green vendors whose products help reduce our footprint on the environment.
E-Waste Collection and Document Shredding
Each Earth Day Celebration has begun with an electronic waste collection event. This free event is open to everyone who needs to dispose of electronic waste. Recently, document shredding services have been added.
