Lead and Copper Rule Revisions - Water Service Line Inventory
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Federal Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) went into effect in 2021. Under the LCRR, all community water systems must develop an inventory of all service line connections, both system-owned and customer-owned. The inventory must identify the potential presence of lead within each service line connection. The initial inventory must be completed and submitted to the State of California Water Resources Control Board Division of Drinking Water (DDW) by October 16, 2024.
The City of Simi Valley/Ventura County Waterworks District No. 8 (City/District) is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed its public water service line inventory, meeting DDW requirements. The City/District is proud to report that no lead water service lines were found within any of the connections. The City/District will inform the property owner and resident if any lead is found in the future.
