Overview
The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center first opened its doors in 1995. Located in the historical building on the corner of Los Angeles Avenue and Church Street, the Center serves as regional hub for the arts and is home to theater, dance, music and the visual arts. It also serves as a community facility and is available for meetings, conferences and special events. The facility is owned and operated by the City of Simi Valley, under the City Manager's Office.
The Center functions as a producing, presenting, and rental house. Over 350 events take place at the Center every year. Events include musicals, concerts, craft fairs, arts exhibits, business meetings, and weddings.

Mission
The mission of the Cultural Arts Center is as follows:
To provide a multipurpose facility to present performances of music, theater, dance, film, lectures and popular entertainment as well as space for conferences, meetings, seminars, and workshops; and,
To develop, support, and encourage cultural activities and educational programs to enhance the quality of life of the citizens of Simi Valley and surrounding communities.
2021-25 Strategic Plan
In July of 2021, the City Council adopted a five-year strategic plan for the Cultural Arts Center. The strategic plan focuses on six main areas: Quality of Life; Sustainability; Programming; Marketing, Outreach and Community Partnerships; Facility and Experience; and Arts Leadership and Advocacy.

Description of Facilities
The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center facility houses three floors: Lower Floor, Main Floor, and Mezzanine.
The Main Floor includes the Main Lobby and concession area, the Main Gallery, and the theater.
The Lower Floor provides a Multipurpose Room, the Lower Gallery, and support areas for the Main Floor (including restrooms, professional dressing rooms, and a green room). In addition, a catering kitchen is located on the lower floor to support activities in the multipurpose room such as meetings, seminars, weddings, etc. The Multipurpose Room seats 70 - 90 for dining and up to 125 for other events. The Box Office and Administrative Offices are also located on the Lower Floor.
The Mezzanine area features both wing and balcony seating.
Rentals
The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center is available to rent for performances, concerts, conferences, and meetings. The facility features a 175-seat professional main stage area, 78-seat black box theater/multi-purpose room, full service dressing rooms, gallery/exhibit space; catering kitchen, and parking. It is also available to rent for seminars, concerts, conventions, trade shows, receptions, banquets, Bar Mitzvahs, weddings, holiday parties, and other private events.

Simi Valley Arts Commission
The Arts Commission is responsible for promoting greater public participation in, and access to, arts and culture; exploring alternate sources of arts and culture funding; planning arts programs and events; developing a master cultural plan; applying for grants; reviewing the annual financial and operational plans for the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center; and reinforcing the arts as a vital, integral, and necessary component of life for all members of the community.
Meetings are scheduled quarterly, taking place at 3:30 p.m. on the third Wednesdays of February, April, September, and November.
Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Foundation
The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Foundation is the fundraising arm of the Cultural Arts Center. This 21-member board includes seven members appointed by City Council and 14 members appointed by the Foundation. They provide critical operational support funds for the Cultural Arts Center, in addition to funding arts education programs and Share the Arts, a program that provides free tickets to low-income children, families, and adults with disabilities. The Foundation also produces the Simi Valley Spotlight Awards, an annual recognition and fundraising event.
