The Simi Valley Public Library is celebrating TWO exciting events: Summer @ Your Library and Happy 5th Year Anniversary.
The festivities begin on June 11th with a special day of exciting and free programs. There is something for everyone!
11:00 a.m. – noon: International performance artist and musician, Christopher Yates, will entertain all ages. Please note that seating is limited. Free tickets will be handed out 15 minutes before showtime on a first come, first served basis.
3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. View Lunar rocks and Meteorite fragments under microscopes, courtesy of NASA.
4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Crafting for adults: Painted Log Slices. Celebrate the Library's 5th anniversary (wood) by painting natural wood disks. Supplies are limited so arrive on time.
6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Opening celebration for 5th Year Anniversary. Join us for guest speakers, classic children’s movie music performed live by local talent, and the announcement of the Summer @ Your Library bookmark design winners. Everyone is encouraged to dress as your favorite storybook/cartoon character. Children will receive a prize (while supplies last). Location: the Library’s rose garden patio.
"Reading Takes You Everywhere!" runs June 11th - July 27th with special programming and prizes for all ages. Register online beginning June 1st or in person beginning June 11th.
The City of Simi Valley will be celebrating the Library's 5th year anniversary all year long with special programs and events. As details become available, they will be posted on the Library's website.
