Overview

The Simi Valley Youth Council is an advisory board to the City Council on issues affecting youth in the community and is comprised of 21 members and up to three alternates. Each high school and middle school is represented on the Youth Council, as well as the Community at Large.

Membership on the Youth Council is open to residents of the City of Simi Valley who are in 7th through 12th grade. The current Youth Council term began on July 1, 2024, and will conclude on June 30, 2025.

Applications to serve on the Youth Council are accepted year-round, and successful applicants are appointed by the City Council each June.  The application period to serve on the 2025-26 Youth Council term will open in March 2025.

Upcoming Events

The Youth Council typically meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m., August through June. All meetings of the Youth Council are open to the public. The Youth Council discusses various issues of interest and concern for youth. For upcoming meeting dates and agenda information, please see below.

The Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley, Community Coalition United (CCU), JustServe, Rancho Simi Recreation & Park District, Simi Valley Community Garden, Simi Valley Family YMCA, Simi Valley Public Library, Simi Valley Youth Council, the Simi Valley Youth Employment Service, Straight Up Ventura County, Samaritan Center of Simi Valley, Salvation Army/Simi Valley Care & Share, Moorpark/Simi Valley Family Resource Centers and Not One More.
