The City of Simi Valley has $150,000 in funding available for community projects and programs to be completed between July 2018 and June 2019. Local 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations serving Simi Valley are encouraged to apply for grant awards ranging from $10,000 to $150,000 to support new or ongoing programs and/or capital projects. Funding eligibility is limited to direct costs associated with the program or project.
A voluntary workshop will be held for applicants on Tuesday, January 30, at 2:00 p.m. in the Simi Valley Public Library Community Room, located at 2969 Tapo Canyon Road, next to City Hall. Organizations are requested to RSVP to ensure adequate space and materials are available for attendees, or by calling the Community Services Department at (805) 583-6864.
Organizations may submit a funding application beginning January 31 through February 21. Although the workshop is not mandatory, organizations are encouraged to attend to learn more about the funding and reporting requirements of the Community Projects Grant.
The grant is made available through an agreement between the City and Waste Management to fund community projects and programs that benefit Simi Valley. Funding will be awarded by the City Council at a public meeting in May.
