Join the Simi Valley Youth Council, Straight Up Ventura County, the Simi Valley Public Library and the theater departments from Royal High School, Santa Susana High School and Simi Valley High School as they host a Stop Bullying event with social change theater performances and a community call-to-action discussion from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., in the Library’s Community Room.
Given that targets of bullying are more likely to acquire physical, emotional, behavioral, and learning problems, and are more likely to refrain from participating in school, workplace, and community activities, we need to come together as a community to stop behavior that is 100% preventable. Join local high school students as they creatively attempt to reduce bullying by using social change theater techniques and original performances designed to generate a community dialog and action plan.
For more information, contact the Youth Council Coordinator at (805) 583-6766. Walk-ins are welcome to this free program; however space is limited to a first-come first-served basis. This event is intended for all ages.
