The City of Simi Valley is currently accepting applications for one community at-large position to serve on Community Projects Grant (CPG) Review Committee. The Community Projects Grant program is funded through an agreement with Waste Management. There is annual funding of up to $150,000 available for local 501 (c)(3) non-profit organizations to request in support of community projects and programs. The funding is disbursed at the discretion of the City Council.
The City Council recently created the CPG Review Committee to review funding requests and make recommendations for its consideration. The Committee will consist of one representative from each of the four Simi Valley Neighborhood Councils, one representative from the Council On Aging, one representative from the Youth Council, and one representative from the community.
Applications are now being accepted for one community at-large position. Applicants will be interviewed by a committee of City Council Members and one applicant will be recommended for appointment by the City Council to the Committee. The appointed individual will need to be available for two to three evening meetings in the months of March, April and May.
The deadline to submit applications is March 22, 2017. Applications may be submitted online by clicking here. For further information about the CPG program, please click here or contact the Community Services Department at (805) 583-6861.
