Workshop - Stand Strong Against Cyberbullying

at Simi Valley Public Library

Parents will attend a panel discussion in the Community Room consisting of Community Liaison Officer Ana Lares from the Simi Valley Police Department, and Deborah Salgado, Director of Secondary Education, from the Simi Valley Unified School District.

At the same time, teens will attend their own presentation in the Teen Lounge to discuss age-appropriate topics led by Jason Messinger, Coordinator of Educational Technology at Simi Valley Unified School District, with the assistance of Youth Council members.

Given that 52% of teenagers have been the victims of cyberbullying, this workshop could not be timelier. Students and their parents will learn practical information and strategies about a difficult topic.

The panel discussion is open to any concerned adults, whether you have teenagers or not. The teen presentation is recommended for ages thirteen to eighteen.

Presented by the Library, Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District, and the City of Simi Valley Youth Council.
