Free Residential Cleanup and Recycling Day

Residents of Simi Valley may dispose of residential cleanup material for free at the Simi Valley Landfill and Recycling Center, 2801 Madera Road, on Sunday, July 17, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Appliances, clean concrete and asphalt, clean wood and greenwaste, and construction or demolition material will also be accepted for recycling.

Residents are requested to separate recyclable material from trash so it can be recycled and not landfilled. The California Highway Patrol requires all loads to be covered to prevent spillage. Proof of Simi Valley residency, such as a driver’s license or trash bill with a Simi Valley address, will be required. Residents must unload their own vehicles. No commercial waste, hazardous waste, electronics, liquids, tires, household batteries, products containing mercury (such as thermometers and thermostats), or fluorescent light tubes and bulbs will be accepted. This event is for residents only with a maximum of two loads per household. Please click here to visit the Simi Valley Landfill’s website for more information.

Any residents transporting waste or recyclables in a commercial vehicle are subject to standard gate rate fees. Further information is available from the Simi Valley Landfill at (805) 579-7267.
