Youth, ages 15 to 22, seeking employment or internships are encouraged to attend the 29th Annual Youth Employment Service (YES) Job and Career Expo on Saturday, April 30, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at the Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley. This free event is provided as a community and business service by the City of Simi Valley and sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley and the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise. Bank of America will present a Career Planning Workshop at 9:15 a.m., to assist participants with assessing their aptitudes and skills to give them a competitive edge when applying for jobs.
Additionally, businesses seeking full-time, part-time, seasonal or permanent employees; interns; and/or businesses willing to discuss career opportunities within their industries can still register for the YES Job and Career Expo at no charge by registering online at www.simivalley.org/JobExpo. With more than 500 qualified high school students, high school graduates, college students and out-of-school youth expected to attend, you don’t want to miss this opportunity to recruit and hire local candidates, educate young adults on career options and network with other businesses.
As each year some employers interview and extend offers the day of the event, young adults who attend the event should be dressed professionally, bring polished resumes, and be prepared to complete employment applications and possibly interview, as each year some employers interview and extend offers the day of the event.
