2016 Ventura County Homeless Count

On Tuesday, January 26, 2016, the County of Ventura needs your help to complete the 2016 Homeless Count.  Sign up to volunteer!  The Count is a requirement for every community that receives federal funding from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  Funding from HUD is extremely important in the effort to end homelessness and accounts for almost $2 million annually to support homeless individuals and families in Ventura County.

Volunteers will work in teams and will receive training in recording the Count.  The volunteer teams will go out in the early morning hours to places where homeless individuals are known to gather.  Most counters are in the field for a couple hours, at a time, and must be at least 18 years old.  The required training for Simi Valley will occur during the following dates:

Training Schedule/Location

Tuesday, January 19, 2016, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. or,

Wednesday, January 20, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
