The Youth Council discusses various issues of interest and concern for youth. For upcoming meeting dates and agenda information, please see below.

Simi Valley Youth Summit

The Simi Valley Youth Council encourages high school students to attend the 14th Annual Simi Valley Youth Summit.  This free event is designed to inspire teens to set goals, enhance leadership abilities, and become involved in their community.  Attendance at the Summit is recognized by the Simi Valley Unified School District as an educational activity and is an approved absence.

The Summit includes a motivational speaker, interactive workshops, and small group discussions regarding community wide issues impacting teens.  Youth Summit attendees will have the opportunity to interface directly with City Council Members, Simi Valley Unified School District Board Members, Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District Board Members, and other community leaders on youth-related issues and concerns over lunch provided by the RAND Corporation.

The event registration is now closed. Youth are encouraged to sign up for the Youth Council e-notification to receive updates and information related to Youth Council activities. Click here to sign up to receive e-notifications. For more information, call Kristin Tignac, Youth Council Coordinator, at (805) 583-6766.
