CDBG Workshop

The City of Simi Valley is requesting project submissions for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) makes funds available each year for the City’s CDBG program. The City solicits projects and activities from non-profit and local government organizations providing a direct benefit to primarily low- and moderate-income residents of Simi Valley.

In an effort to improve the CDBG process, the following changes have been made:

                                  •   A minimum $18,000 funding request for all Public Service applications. 

                                  •   If approved, Public Service applications will be funded for a two-year cycle.

                                                                          CDBG Workshops Scheduled

To assist non-profit and local government organizations in applying for CDBG funds, mandatory workshops will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and on Thursday, October 30, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Both workshops will be held in the Community Room at City Hall, 2929 Tapo Canyon Road, Simi Valley. The workshops will cover materials related to the application process, reimbursement request submittals, and reporting requirements for the 2015-16 CDBG Program Year.

The City Council of the City of Simi Valley has determined that attendance at a CDBG Workshop is required for submitting an application for Community Development Block Grant funds. CDBG applicants who do not attend one of these workshops will not qualify for CDBG funding for the 2015-16 Program Year.
