The City of Simi Valley encourages incoming middle and high school students to apply for the 2014-15 Simi Valley Youth Council.
The Youth Council is an advisory board to the City Council on issues affecting youth in the community and is comprised of 21 members and up to three alternates. Each high school and middle school is represented on the Youth Council, as well as the Community at Large. Youth Council meetings are held during the school year on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m.
Membership on the Youth Council is open to residents of the City of Simi Valley who are in the 7th through 12 grades. Members may be enrolled in schools outside of Simi Valley. The next Youth Council term will begin on July 1, 2014 and end on June 30, 2015. Applications may be submitted online by visiting the City's website at www.simivalley.org/YouthCouncil, or hard copy applications are available at all middle and high school front offices within Simi Valley and at the Simi Valley Public Library. Additionally, applications may also be obtained by contacting Kristin Tignac, Youth Council Coordinator, at (805) 522-4473. Applications must be received by Friday, May 2, 2014.
