Free Housing Rights Workshop

Each year, the City acknowledges the month of April as “Fair Housing Month” in honor of the anniversary of the enactment of Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, which led to the national Fair Housing Act, the State of California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act, and the Unruh Civil Rights Act.
These laws promote non-discrimination in housing based on race, color, religion, sex, gender, national origin, familial status, disability, sexual orientation, age, marital status, and source of income. To commemorate these historic pieces of legislation, the Housing Rights Center-Los Angeles is co-sponsoring a free Fair Housing Workshop in Simi Valley on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The workshop will be held in the Community Room located at City Hall, 2929 Tapo Canyon Road (map).
Landlords, tenants, property managers, and other interested parties are invited to attend this free workshop. Topics of discussion will include discrimination, evictions, security deposits, repairs, and much more.
