Free Rubbish Drop-Off Day

Residents of Simi Valley may dispose of residential rubbish for free at the Simi Valley Landfill and Recycling Center.  Appliances, clean concrete and asphalt, clean wood and greenwaste, and construction or demolition material will also be accepted for recycling.  Residents are requested to separate recyclable materials from rubbish so it can be recycled and not landfilled.  The CHP requires all loads to be covered to prevent spillage.  Proof of Simi Valley residency, such as a driver's license with a Simi Valley address, will be required.  Residents must unload their own vehicles.  No commercial waste, hazardous waste, liquids, tires, televisions, household batteries, computer monitors, electronic waste, products containing mercury (such as thermometers and thermostats), or fluorescent light tubes and bulbs will be accepted.  This event is for residents and nonprofit organizations only.  Residents may also visit the Landfill's website at www.keepingventuracountyclean.com for more information.
