The County of Ventura needs your help to complete the Homeless Count on January 24, 2023. Sites all throughout Ventura County including: Ventura, Camarillo, Ojai, Santa Paula, Thousand Oaks, Fillmore, Oxnard, Simi Valley, Port Hueneme, Moorpark, and unincorporated Areas.
Sign up to volunteer here!
The count is a requirement for every community that receives federal funding from HUD. In Ventura County, local groups lead the effort in each of the 10 cities. HUD funding is extremely important in the effort to end homelessness and accounts for almost $5,500,000 annually to support homeless individuals and families in Ventura County.
Volunteers will go out in teams in the early morning through the afternoon, to places where homeless persons are known to gather. Most counters are in the field for a couple of hours at a time, and must be at least 18 years old. Training materials for volunteers can be found here under News & Announcements.
