"Business for Good; Starting a Nonprofit" with Keynote Speaker Michele Neff Hernandez

This free event is a part of the Startup Simi's Inspire Entrepreneurship Speaker Series

The Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce and the City of Simi Valley’s Youth Employment Service (YES) are inviting members of the startup community to attend the next Startup Simi Inspire Entrepreneurship event on March 24, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at 99.1 The Ranch radio station.  The Inspire Entrepreneurship series is designed to engage entrepreneurs through hosting special events and workshops for the startup community in Simi Valley.

This free event will feature keynote speaker Michele Neff Hernandez, CEO and Founder of Soaring Spirits International. In 2008, Michele’s life tragically changed forever.  From her experience, Michele created Soaring Spirits International to help  other people navigate widowhood. Since then, her Simi Valley-based non profit has gone global, helping people throughout the world.  In 2021 she was recognized as a CNN Hero!

Who should attend?

  • Entrepreneurs interested in starting a nonprofit;
  • Existing nonprofits looking to grow and expand their services/reach; and
  • Everyone interested in starting a business now or in the future.

“Michele is a non-profit juggernaut, not to mention a local hero,” said Anthony Angelini, local government representative on the YES Advisory Board and a member of Startup Simi.  Angelini continued, “Hearing her discuss her business journey in a Q&A format should be a requirement for any entrepreneur or aspiring entrepreneur.”

Register in advance to reserve a seat.  Walk-ins are welcome for this free event, but seating is limited.  99.1 The Ranch is located in the Simi Valley Town Center at 1555 Simi Town Center Way, Simi Valley, CA 93065.
