The Simi Valley Youth Council and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute will host the 2022 Youth Symposium, including the 7th Annual Simi Valley Youth Town Hall on Thursday, March 10, 2022.
The Youth Town Hall is a model youth-led, youth-driven event, providing a venue for middle and high school students to ask questions to members of a mental health-focused discussion panel. Panelists include Future Simi Valley Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Hani Youssef; Simi Valley Unified School District Coordinator of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Humanities Dr. Angelica Chavez; and Simi Valley Police Department Chief David Livingstone. Youth Town Hall attendees will have the unique opportunity to ask panelists a variety of questions of concern via Flipgrid, Poll Everywhere, social media, and the use of comment cards. After lunch, students will participate in the annual Youth Summit by working in breakout groups to brainstorm solutions and action plans for prominent issues of concern for youth.
The event registration will close on March 3, 2022. Middle and high school students can register online to attend the free event. Youth are encouraged to sign up for the Youth Council e-notification to receive updates and information related to Youth Council activities.
