Program for Public Information (PPI) Committee

The City is part of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) which provides access to NFIP flood insurance. The City also participates in the Community Rating System which provides flood insurance premium discounts for its public information activities. The role of the PPI Committee is to provide oversight of the City’s public information activities regarding its flood plains and flood insurance.

The PPI Committee has members from both inside and outside the local government. Staff from the City Department of Public Works, Emergency Services, and the City Manager’s Office have been assigned by City Council resolution to work together with active members of the community, including representatives of the insurance industry, to develop and implement the PPI Plan.

PPI Plan

The PPI Committee met twice during the initial development of the PPI Plan, and will continue to meet annually to monitor and update the plan. The updated plan will then be forwarded to the City Council to receive and file. Every five years, the City Council will adopt a fully updated PPI Plan.
