Consolidated Plan Community Workshop #2
Setting Spending Priorities for Next Five Years

The City of Simi Valley participates in two federally funded programs, the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and the Home Investment Partnership (HOME) Program, that require the preparation of a Consolidated Plan outlining the intended use of those funds. The City is in the process of updating its Consolidated Plan for the five-year term that begins on July 1, 2010 and ends on June 30, 2015. This plan contains a comprehensive strategy to address the needs of low- and moderate-income residents and a priority system for addressing the identified needs. In this context, a 4-person household with an annual gross income of less than $70,000 is considered to be of low/moderate-income. As part of the planning process, input from the community is needed to identify both housing and non-housing needs for low- and moderate-income residents and the relative priority that each of the identified needs will have for funding. The document will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on or before May 15, 2010.
A survey will be presented at this workshop to gather information on community needs. Participation in the survey is encouraged, even if attendance at one of two available workshops is not possible.
