The Simi Valley Youth Council is excited to announce a new live webinar series called Thursday Nights with Emma. The free webinars will focus on specific areas to help students navigate and excel in high school and college academics.
On May 13, Ms. Mikita will cover college readiness, from what students should do during middle and high school to prepare for the college admissions process, including composing compelling college admission essays, completing scholarship applications, and more!
Emma Mikita, a Royal High School graduate, will lead interactive webinars during the month of May. As a third-year college student attending La Verne University, Emma is driven to help high school students prepare to successfully make the transition to college. Her one-hour webinars, guided by recommendations from the Youth Council, include time for Q & A on the topics of the night.
“I encourage both students and parents to participate in the free Thursday Nights with Emma webinars,” stated the Youth Council Chair Riya Manimaran. “It’s difficult navigating the college application process and you don’t have to go about it alone. Attending the webinars and getting questions answered can serve to help those burning questions you might have; I think anyone who attends, whether it be parent or student, can come out with valuable information.”
