A Foreclosure Prevention Workshop will be held on November 14, 2009, at the Simi Valley Senior Center located at 3900 Avenida Simi. The workshop will be offered in English at 9:30 AM and will be repeated in Spanish at 11:00 AM. Simi Valley homeowners interested in attending the workshop should call Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) at (805) 659-6868 for a reservation.

The City of Simi Valley has retained the services of CEDC to provide Foreclosure Prevention Workshops and counseling services for Simi Valley residents. There is no charge for residents to attend a workshop or to receive counseling.

Workshops will provide homeowners with valuable information that is necessary to deal with potential foreclosure issues. With homeowners' permission, CEDC's housing counselors will contact lenders on behalf of homeowners in an effort to negotiate a workout plan or loan modification designed to help homeowners stay in their homes. CEDC's counselors are certified through NeighborWorks® America's Foreclosure Intervention and Default Counseling Program, which is approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
