Join the Simi Valley Youth Council, Straight Up Ventura County, PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center, the Simi Valley Public Library and the theater departments from Royal High School, Santa Susana High School and Simi Valley High School as they host a Stop Bullying event in the Library’s Community Room. The event will consist of social change theater performances and a community call-to-action discussion.
Local high school students will creatively attempt to reduce bullying by using social change theater techniques and original performances designed to generate a community dialog and action plan. Given that targets of bullying are more likely to acquire physical, emotional, behavioral, and learning problems, and are more likely to refrain from participating in school, workplace, and community activities, this event is designed to bring the community together to stop this preventable behavior.
This free event is open to public and intended for all ages. However space is limited to a first-come first-served basis.
