Applications to serve on the Youth Council are accepted year-round.  The application period for the 2024-25 Youth Council term closed on April 26, 2024. 

Please note that applications for the 2025-26 Youth Council term will open in March 2025.  Note that students 14 years of age and under must complete a hardcopy application, which may be obtained by emailing a request to youthcouncil@simivalley.org.

The Youth Council is an advisory board that:

A. Advises the City Council on issues affecting youth in the community.

B. Consists of 21 members and up to three alternates appointed annually to represent each middle and high school in Simi Valley, as well as youth from the community-at-large.

C. Meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month promptly at 5:00 p.m., during the school year, in the City Hall Community Room.

D. Hosts the Annual Simi Valley Youth Summit.

E. Promotes civic commitment and community volunteerism.
