The Community Projects Grant (CPG) Program is made available through an agreement between the City and Waste Management to fund community projects and programs that benefit Simi Valley. The grant program provides approximately $150,000 to local 501 (c)(3) non-profit organizations. Funding is disbursed at the recommendation of the CPG Review Committee, with final discretion of the City Council.

Application Period for Projects
The application period for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024-25 closed on February 15th, 2024.
Review Committee
The application period for the at-large community representative to serve on the CPG Review Committee closed on March 1, 2024.
The CPG Review Committee reviews funding requests from local 501 (c)(3) non-profit organizations for projects and programs serving the community and makes recommendations to the City Council for funding awards. The Committee consists of one representative from each of the four Neighborhood Councils, one representative from the Council on Aging, one representative from the Youth Council, and one representative from the community. Representatives are nominated by their representing committee and are appointed by the City Council. Terms for the representatives end when the City Council awards the annual funding.
All of the CPG Review Committee representatives will be recommended for appointment at the April 15, 2024 City Council meeting. Meeting dates for the CPG Review Committee have been scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on April 24, 2024 and May 8, 2024.
Informational Workshop for Interested Organizations
A voluntary workshop was held on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. in the Simi Valley Public Library Community Room located at 2969 Tapo Canyon Rd, Simi Valley, CA 93063. The workshop provided an overview of the program’s application and review process. For those who were unable to attend the workshop, the PowerPoint presentation can be accessed on our website.
Annual Awards
On June 3, 2024, the City Council awarded funds for FY 2024-25 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County, Body Brain Train, Cancer Support Community Valley/Ventura/Santa Barbara, the Free Clinic of Simi Valley, Many Mansions, PathPoint, Sarah's House, Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, Simi Valley Girls Softball, Simi Valley Hospital Foundation, Southeast Ventura County YMCA, and The Arc of Ventura County.
